A healthcare provider in Southampton is looking for an OPMH Inpatient AHP Lead - Occupational Therapist. This role involves leading the Occupational Therapy team to support older individuals facing mental health challenges. This is an exciting opportunity to become the team leader for the Occupational Therapy Team covering Older Persons Mental Health Therapy teams at Snowdrop ward, Melbury Lodge, Winchester, and Primrose ward, Western Hospital, Southampton.
We are looking for a flexible and creative candidate who has excellent clinical and leadership skills who can work to deliver a service for older people with mental health challenges in an inpatient setting, supporting individuals' recovery, whilst providing guidance and supervision and leadership to this therapy team across two sites as the service develops. You will be motivated and enthusiastic to work in an inpatient mental health setting and have both clinical and leadership experience to bring to this role.
Manage designated AHP team within Southampton and South West OPMH services
Be responsible for the planning, development, and delivery of AHP provision within designated services.
Provide specialist advice to AHP staff on service users with complex needs, using evidence based, person centred principles to assess, plan, implement and evaluate interventions
Provide professional leadership to a designated teams including recruitment, supervision and development of AHP staff within the multi-disciplinary context
Provide specialist AHP input to planning, development and evaluation of clinical services within Southampton OPMH, holding responsibility for defined projects
To be responsible for the AHP budget
Be responsible for departmental policy and service development and interpreting related codes of practice, policies and professional guidelines relevant to forensic specialist area
Work as part of the Operational Management Team in the management, development and improvement of designated services
