Job Title: Opiate Recovery Practitioner

An Opiate Recovery Practitioner is needed to provide psychosocial treatments to clients at a service in South London.

To ensure service users receive appropriate interventions tailored to their needs, the ideal applicant will have the knowledge and skills to evaluate and interact effectively with clients.

This role offers an exciting opportunity for individuals experienced in substance misuse issues who wish to advance their careers within an organization that supports personal and professional growth.

Responsibilities:

  1. Assist clients as they enter the programme and support their therapy or recovery process.
  2. Provide screening, evaluation, recovery planning, and referrals.
  3. Minimize harm caused by drugs and alcohol to clients and the community.
  4. Encourage participation from carers, clients, and the community.
  5. Act as an advocate for partnership service access.
  6. Support social reintegration of service users to help them lead meaningful lives, promoting self-determination, resilience, recovery, and peer support.
  7. Conduct research and prepare materials for group sessions or pods.
  8. Deliver structured information to service users at various stages of their recovery.
  9. Analyze progress and address concerns through debriefings and evaluations with co-facilitators.
  10. Design seminars tailored to the needs of service users, covering topics like relationships, anger management, and sleep issues.

Experience Required:

  1. Thorough knowledge of substance abuse issues or relevant experience in a related field.
  2. Strong written and verbal communication skills, along with IT proficiency.
  3. Understanding of mental health services, interventions, and best practices.
  4. Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to collaborate with diverse individuals and organizations.
  5. Ability to manage change effectively, prioritizing service user interests.
  6. Knowledge of information governance procedures and commitment to safety protocols.
  7. Willingness to pursue continuous learning and contribute to the development of others.
