The Royal Berkshire Hospital, part of the Royal Berkshire NHS Foundation Trust, is recruiting a Band 5 theatre nurse for the ophthalmology theatre team. The post focuses on specialist eye surgery including cataract-adjacent procedures and corneal grafts, with opportunities for preceptorship and supervised practice while competencies are built.

You will work on corneal grafts (DSEK/DMEK) and glaucoma surgeries involving stents, supported by in-house training, progression pathways, and leadership

Qualifications

• Registered nurse (RGN) or operating department practitioner (RODP) with current registration.
• Anaesthetic/surgical/recovery skills as specified in the post.
• Excellent customer care skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in ophthalmology theatre team on specialised eye surgery.
• Support corneal graft procedures, including DSEK and DMEK.
• Support glaucoma surgery involving stents.
