University Hospitals Dorset NHS Trust is seeking a dedicated Theatre Scrub Nurse or ODP to join the Eye Theatres team in Bournemouth. Band 5, permanent contract, full-time 37.5 hours per week with on-call commitment on weekends and bank holidays.

Experience in Ophthalmology is desirable but not essential as full training will be provided. You will work in scrub, anaesthetics and recovery, with opportunities to develop multi-skilled competencies across the Ophthalmology theatre pathway.

Qualifikationen

• Registered Nurse with NMC registration or HCPC registered ODP
• Learning and Assessing in Practice or equivalent teaching/mentoring qualification
• Patient Care in Anaesthesia CPD module or equivalent
• Patient Care in Surgery CPD module or equivalent

Aufgaben

• Demonstrate competence and flexibility as a Theatre Practitioner in scrub, anaesthetics and recovery
• Demonstrate understanding of ophthalmic procedures, anaesthetic techniques and recovery
• Participate in theatre coordination/team leader roles
• Perform circulating duties including patient dignity, equipment prep, stock control and cleaning
• Support patients with anxiety, provide comfort and advocacy
• Contribute to quality improvement and audit
• Demonstrate current emergency resuscitation techniques
• Ensure proper cleaning and storage of equipment
• Maintain mandatory training compliance
• Maintain confidentiality at all times
