Qualifications

• Must be a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC pin.
• Previous scrub experience, ideally within ophthalmics is preferred.
• Sound understanding of infection control and safe practice protocols.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide scrub support for ophthalmic procedures in a sterile environment.
• Deliver patient care throughout the surgical pathway—from admission to discharge.
• Administer medicines and maintain documentation in line with NMC guidelines.
• Prepare, check and store theatre equipment appropriately.
• Assist with inventory and stock control, maintaining safe levels.
• Adhere to clinical governance policies.
• Maintain confidentiality in line with data protection legislation.
• Collaborate with the ophthalmic team and participate in ALS training.
• Take part in on-call and weekend rotas.
