Job summary

ACES is a pioneering independent provider of NHS ophthalmic care in the community and one of the first centres nationally to take innovative fast track cataract surgery out of a hospital setting.

This is a practical 'hands on' role with varied responsibilities including anaesthetic assistant, pre-operative assessments, prepare the patient for their Cataract treatment and undertake pre-screening diagnostic duties.

Qualifications

• NMC or HCPC registration required.
• Hands-on theatre experience preferred.
• Experience in ophthalmology/cataract settings advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Assist anaesthetist during procedures.
• Conduct pre-operative assessments and pre-screening duties.
• Prepare patients for cataract treatment and undertake pre-screening diagnostic duties.
• Discharge patients with after-care advice and medications.
