Job summary

The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital NHS Foundation Trust is seeking an Assistant Practitioner for the Nelson Day Unit's Ophthalmology team to deliver safe, patient-centered pre- and post-operative care for day-case eye procedures.

You will support registered staff with patient flow, prepare notes, and undertake delegated clinical tasks within your competence, ensuring clear communication with patients and carers.

Qualifications

• Assists with pre- and post-operative care under supervision.
• Communicates effectively with patients and carers.
• Supports patient flow and theatre readiness in ophthalmic procedures.

Responsibilities

• Prepare patient records and documentation for procedures.
• Assist in pre-operative preparation and post-operative recovery and observations.
• Escalate concerns promptly to a registered practitioner.
• Maintain a clean, safe environment and stock clinical areas per policy.
• Undertake delegated clinical tasks within competence as trained.
