Job summary

CHEC is seeking an Ophthalmic Assistant in Nottingham with occasional travel to Loughborough. You will work with the clinical team in the day-to-day running of eye care clinics, carrying out diagnostic examinations whilst maintaining high quality care to all patients.

This role requires empathy, excellent communication and organisational skills, and a proactive approach to learning. 37.5 hours over four days, with a 7.30am start, permanent full-time.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the running of pre- and post-operative clinicals.
  • Act as theatre runner/escort ensuring patients receive high-quality care and support during surgery.
  • Support patients throughout their CHEC journey and report concerns.
  • Ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use.
  • Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities.
  • Adhere to good record keeping and high standards of patient care.

About The Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join the team. As an Optical Assistant you will work alongside the clinical team in the day to day running of eye care clinics, carrying out diagnostic examinations whilst maintaining high quality care to all patients.

We Are Looking For Someone Who Can
  • Assist in the running of pre- and post-operative clinicals
  • Act as theatre runner/escort ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care, and our theatre team are assisted during surgery
  • Support patients throughout their journey with CHEC and report any concerns.
  • Ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use
