Job summary

Community Eye Care Chec is seeking an Optical Assistant to join our Trafford Park clinic with occasional travel to Stockport and Accrington. The role involves working with the clinical team, supporting day-to-day eye care services and ensuring high-quality patient care across pre- and post-operative settings.

You will assist during clinicals, act as theatre runner, and help patients throughout their journey with CHEC.

Job Title: Optical Assistant

Location: Trafford Park, with occasional travel to Stockport and Accrington

Contract Type: Permanent, full time

Hours: 37.5 hours a week, over 4 days (7.30am start time)

About the Role

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Optical Assistant to join the team. As an Optical Assistant you will work alongside the clinical team in the day to day running of eye care clinics, carrying out diagnostic examinations whilst maintaining high quality care to all patients.

We are looking for someone who can:

• Assist in the running of pre- and post-operative clinicals
• Act as theatre runner/escort ensuring that patients receive the highest quality care, and our theatre team are assisted during surgery
• Support patients throughout their journey with CHEC and report any concerns.
• Ensure all equipment is checked and ready for use
• Prepare all areas prior to any clinical activities
• Adhere to good record keeping and high standards of quality patient care
