Join a leading energy provider as an Operator (Stores) in Birmingham. Your role will involve maintaining materials, conducting inspections, and supporting the upkeep of stores. Ideal candidates will have GCSEs in English and Maths and be trained to operate a Fork Lift Truck. Flexibility and initiative are key in this safety-critical environment.
An opportunity is available for an Operator (Stores) based in Birmingham. As an Operator, your duties will include the maintenance of materials & cables. Other responsibilities may include carrying out routine inspection, maintenance, and repairs of tools and PPE. Additionally, your role will involve supporting the upkeep of stores and assisting in the inspection of network assets as needed. All necessary training will be provided to ensure proficiency in these tasks.
To apply, you will need to hold English & Maths GCSE (1-9/G-A*) or an equivalent qualification deemed to be at the same level, such as Functional Skills. Evidence of your qualifications will be required prior to appointment.

Ideally, you will be trained to operate a Fork Lift Truck. You will be able to work under your own initiative in a safety-critical environment. Support will be provided to obtain any missing requirements that the successful candidate will be expected to acquire.
You will need to be mobile throughout the area and may be required to undertake out-of-hours standby duties as necessary to meet business needs. Operationally, you should live within approximately 30 minutes of the depot you are applying for.
National Grid Electricity Distribution is committed to safeguarding the interests of the company, colleagues, and customers. This role is subject to a satisfactory DBS check, with different levels of screening and vetting depending on the role. Some roles require a triannual check.
