National Grid Electricity Distribution seeks two Operators for Overhead Lines in Pontypridd. You will support the construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead lines. An opportunity is available for two Operator’s (Overhead Lines) based at Church Village to cover the Cardiff distribution area.
As an Operator, you will assist a Craftsperson with construction, maintenance, replacement, and repair of overhead lines up to and including 66kV. Some experience in the electrical field is preferred, but all necessary training will be provided.
The work involves being away from the depot, typically working in a team of two. The environment requires quick, decisive, and responsible actions to meet role demands.
You will also be responsible for ensuring the van contains all essential tools and equipment, working safely, and assisting with any labor required on site. The role may involve working in a team of two or more people.
You need the ability and enthusiasm to work in a physical environment and take quick, responsible actions. Flexibility with working hours and a valid driving license are essential.
Applicants must hold English & Maths GCSE (1-9/G-A*) or equivalent qualifications, such as Functional Skills. Evidence of qualifications will be required prior to appointment.
Note: For roles involving working at height and using Personal Fall Protection Equipment, there are weight restrictions.
