Overview

The Fulfillment/Picker role is responsible for accurately picking customer orders to ensure an unsurpassed customer experience. They utilize equipment, such as RF scanners and pick carts, to locate and retrieve items from inventory shelves. The Fulfillment Picker ensures that orders are fulfilled efficiently and accurately, maintaining inventory accuracy and meeting customer delivery deadlines. Additionally, they are responsible for organizing, replenishing stock, and staging picked orders for shipment.

Qualifications

EDUCATION, CERTIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
  • 1+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment; food and beverage manufacturing experience preferred.
  • 1+ years picking orders.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to follow work instructions, as well as Safety, Quality, and Company policies.
  • Ability to read, write, and speak English.
  • Ability to work around and with hand-held, manual, and moving equipment i.e., conveyors, case packing, pallet jacks, and other machinery.
  • Ability to use a tape gun, box cutter, and other small tools.
  • Ability to recognize number sequences, lot numbers, date codes, and other data visually and accurately.
  • Ability to work independently with general supervision as well as work in a diverse, fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
  • Ability to be flexible and take on assignments as required.
  • Ability to interact well with other staff members and in alignment with the company’s overall goals.
  • Ability to have a positive, can-do attitude, strong work ethic, and be reliable and punctual.
Working Conditions / Physical Requirements

WORKING CONDITIONS: This position works in a food manufacturing environment and requires the ability to adhere to all GMP, Food Safety, workplace safety and security policies including wearing required personal protective equipment, such as hair nets, beard nets, steel or composite toe shoes, safety glasses, etc.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to visually detect, identify, and effectively communicate product deviations to lead or manager.
  • Ability to stand and walk on concrete floors.
  • Ability to perform repetitive motions for extended periods of time with hands and fingers.
  • Ability to wear all required personal protective equipment in accordance with Quality and Safety policies.
  • The position requires the ability to perform repetitive motions with hands and fingers, walk, stand on concrete floors, regularly lift to 25 lbs., and occasionally lift, push, and pull up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work and perform picking of frozen items and stocking inventory stock in a walk-in; -10 degree freezer.
Responsibilities
  • Picking and verifying the accuracy of items ordered for all orders assigned, including LTL and Canada orders, food, and formula.
  • Clearing the lines/stacking the pallets going out that day.
  • Refilling the shipper's coolers.
  • Answering the door when the bell rings.
  • Loading/unloading trucks including end-of-day UPS trucks and ensuring all outbound pallets are wrapped.
  • Filling out the freezer temp log and cleaning logs.
  • Organizing the warehouse (making sure pallets are put away properly and picked off properly).
  • Taking the cardboard to the compactor.
  • Understanding Department Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for Safety, Quality and Logistics.
  • Receive, inspect, and store all warehouse stock (i.e.- Dry and cold), following First in First out (FIFO) FDA regulations with clearly marked inventory, cased & palletized in designated marked storage locations.
  • Maintaining order and cleanliness in the Fulfillment Dept. and overall facility including freezer.
  • Maintain food safety and food quality by completing job tasks and maintaining work area in a sanitary manner.
  • Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts as requested.
  • Able to possess and maintain a valid forklift license issued by the company.
  • Communicate with manager and other staff regarding department needs and observations.
  • Communicate product deviation and product defect if any are observed.
  • Attending all required daily team reviews and training relevant to the job provided either internally or externally.
  • Other duties as assigned.
