Job description

Our team in Sandbach currently has an opening for a Operator, days - Sandbach.

The Sandbach terminal is a 24-hour, 7-day-a-week operation. It is the primary bulk inorganics chemical terminal for Brenntag UK, comprising caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, sulphuric acid, ferric chloride, and poly-aluminium chloride. The terminal operates dilution facilities for caustic soda, hydrochloric acid, and sulphuric acid.

This role encompasses all aspects of the site’s functions, including:

  • Weighing vehicles in and out, printing loading notes, assisting drivers with paperwork, sampling, and testing products.
  • Operating the plant following all site procedures effectively and safely, with consideration for environmental impact, in accordance with company policies.
  • Operating bespoke computer loading/blending equipment to load and offload bulk road tankers safely, adhering to site instructions and policies.
  • Sampling and testing chemicals, completing certificates of product conformity.
  • Completing system checks and plant logs as required.
  • Reporting any plant issues promptly.
  • Preparing and isolating plant equipment for maintenance, including issuing permits to work.
  • Undertaking basic cleaning and maintenance tasks, such as cleaning and painting.
  • Weighing loaded or empty tankers and completing legal paperwork to ensure no discrepancies before vehicles leave the site.
  • Ensuring tankers presenting for loading or discharging have the correct consignment number, are the correct type for the product, and that drivers complete the necessary paperwork prior to loading or discharging.
