If this sounds like you, then an Operative role within our Streatham Signalling Maintenance team could be the job for you.

We are currently recruiting operatives to join an established team within our Streatham Depot. We are looking for people with all levels of experience in Mechanical and/or electrical disciplines. Our Operatives work shift patterns which include nights and weekends, so you must be able to commit to this. In return, we will provide a competitive salary with overtime, a pension, and a generous annual leave allowance.

About the role (External)

Operatives specialise in various fields, but for this role, you'll become a specialist in:

Signalling & Telecoms: You will work with equipment including signals and communication systems that control train movements, level crossings, and points systems. You will have the opportunity to develop a wide range of technical skills across manual, electrical, and digital equipment.

  • Following rules and instructions: Respect and understanding of safety rules, with confidence to challenge unsafe situations.
  • Willingness to learn: Continuously developing skills and keeping up-to-date with standards, procedures, and instructions.

Additional information:

  • Shifts include days, nights, and weekends.
  • Outdoor work in various weather conditions with PPE provided.
  • Employment is subject to drug and alcohol testing, medical assessment, and BPSS checks, including hearing and eyesight exams.
  • A valid driving license (category B) is required to operate Network Rail vehicles.
  • You must be within a 60-minute commute of the location.
