A leading company in mineral-based specialty solutions is seeking an Operative (Day Worker) for their St Austell site. The role involves maintaining pipelines and monitors, assisting engineers, and performing routine inspections. Location – St Austell - Central Area Mining
Hours of work – 7am-3pm - Monday - Friday
Salary - £23 809.50 starting salary, which increases to £24,797.00 (once fully trained)
Contract: 6 months FTC

The job role: Operative (Day Worker)
As an Operative you will maintain the monitors and the pressure pipelines network across our Mines, assisting the engineers and management team on various sites.
You will: be responsible for the repair, maintenance and installation of pressure lines &various items of monitor washing equipment. Some of your responsibilities include:
Assistance to the Engineers as and when required,
Support for production activities, including monitor operations when necessary,
Assess the repair work & manage priorities based on Production needs,
Liaise with the managers for the shutdown,
Communicating with others on site to conduct the work.
Perform routine inspections
Manage the workload & work closely with ancillary mobile equipment (JCB / Tractor etc)

What we ask in return?
As an Operative, your work is mostly maintaining pipelines and monitors, exclusively outdoor work, in all weathers and conditions. You will ideally have the following skills;
Be familiar with hand tools such as spanners / drills / grinding equipment,
Have a basic understanding of engineering,
Be experienced using hands on tools,
Be comfortable working outside for a large part of the day in all weather conditions
Working at heights and/or confined spaces where necessary,
Carry out a variety of tasks,
Have hands on experience in a similar role, involving drilling and welding,
Experience working with Mobile Working Platforms would be preferable,
Welding experience or willing to be trained, the role will be conditional to completing the welding qualification.
