Hours of work : 38.5 per week, Day and night shifts across a 4-week rotating shift pattern:
Day Shift: Week 1: 7am – 7pm - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off)
Week 2: 7am – 7pm Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)
Night Shift: Week 3: 7pm – 7am - Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun (Wed & Thurs off)
Week 4: 7pm – 7am Wed & Thu (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat & Sun off)

The job role:
As an Operative Chargehand, you’ll support and supervise the day-to-day operation of wet mining operations at our Wheal Remfry Site. Working closely with the Shift Captain/Supervisor, you’ll oversee the use of washing hoses, SCADA controlled pumps, and conveyors to ensure production targets are achieved safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities, but are not limited to:
Lead and supervise production operatives across your shift
Maintain health, safety and environmental standards
Operate the production process to meet tonnage and quality targets
Deputise for the Shift Captain/Supervisor when required
Monitor and report on production metrics and performance
Contribute to continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives
Work collaboratively with maintenance teams to ensure preventative maintenance is carried out
Attend production meetings and support operational planning
Assist in training, rota planning and identify team development needs

Have supervisory experience in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Be a confident and motivated leader
Be proficient and confident in using IT and digital systems
Have strong literacy, numeracy and problem-solving abilities
Have a solid understanding of safe working practices
