Highways Maintenance Operative

Salary

£26,208 to £29,000 depending on experience + call out + overtime

Responsibilities
  • Support the Operative team with the efficient and timely delivery of highway service requirements across the Somerset network, including reactive works, emergency response, minor civils works / improvement works, winter maintenance activity and severe weather operations.
  • Contribute to customer care by working closely with team members, ensuring clients and network users are dealt with in a polite and courteous manner.
  • Respond to defects on the highway within designated timescales, updating relevant parties through tablet applications and installing/removing emergency traffic management signage.
  • Use tablet devices at incidents and emergency repairs to complete required record sheets and provide accurate records of works.
  • Conduct daily defect reports on vehicles and ensure vehicles are cleaned and maintained in good order.
Qualifications
  • Drive and hold a full driving licence.
  • LGV training will be provided once you meet necessary business targets.
  • Can work on your own initiative and as part of a team, communicating faults or issues.
