Purpose of the role is to…
Learn aspects of engine or subsystem assembly. Learn then support routine and essential tasks & tests through working to strict Standard Operating Procedures and Work Instructions. Coordinating the archiving, sourcing and disposal of mileaged parts in line with relevant build policies. (e.g. Filter and component patch testing, Tangential load measurement of piston rings). To support the investigation into build generated faults and support the containment and counter measure actions needed, to include updating the database actions and status. To support the ongoing preventative maintenance tasks that help builds progress at pace (e.g. Cleaning line checks).
Responsibilities
- Adhering to and completion of manual assembly operations to produce operations in a safe manner, working to a pre-determined quality standard using approved methods in which training has been received.
- Adhering to agreed delivery schedules.
- Adherence to SOPs and Quality Management System processes.
- Constructive reporting of quality issues via the non-conformance process and the fault database.
- Maintenance and continuous improvement of the clean build environment.
- Maintenance of allocated equipment through basic TPM controls and early reporting of issues.
Experience & Knowledge
- Self organisation of requested tasks in order to complete these in a safe and efficient manner.
- Knowledge or awareness of Power Unit components (primarily internal combustion engine).
Demonstrated Ability
- Similar relevant experience of high quality engineering environment (desirable not essential).
- Ability to work to high levels of quality and cleanliness.
- PC literacy including MS Office products.
- Ability to work safely in line with HPP protocols (Risk Assessments, Personal Protective Equipment etc.).
Qualifications
- 5 GCSEs (Including English and Maths), at Grade 4/C or above.

Additional information
Specifically, the job will look at the following tasks and activities (Training will be given so don\'t worry!)
- Support the review of new Formula 1 Build faults and review with the fault owners/ area team leaders.
- Update the fault on the database and commence work to support containing the faults and countermeasures to mitigate any future reoccurrence (This will be working with the Build Faults supporting team and team leaders).
- Review with Build team the status of stored archived components in the Plant room to ensure access remains clear and no flammable items have been moved into the area.
