Jump Trading Group is a leading quantitative trading employer seeking talent in London to monitor, adjust, and optimize live trading strategies across energy and related markets. The role emphasizes risk-aware decision making, instrument knowledge, and collaboration with brokers and back offices.

You will build tools, backtest ideas, and document processes while ensuring uptime and timely end-of-day reporting. Flexible hours and in-house tooling are core.

Qualifications

• Experience in a trading operations, or strategy support role.
• Strong risk awareness and decisive action on live positions.
• Familiarity with exchange-traded products, expiries, and trading hours.
• Proficiency in Python, C++ and shell scripting for tooling.
• Backtesting and data analysis experience; curiosity for P&L sources.
• Ability to triage issues calmly and escalate clearly.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; able to work with brokers.
• Willingness to cover trading hours and collaborate across teams.

Responsibilities

• Monitor strategy performance, P&L, margin usage and positions.
• Spot and report unusual behaviour or large moves in P&L/positions.
• Manage live strategies by adjusting parameters as conditions change.
• Use sound risk judgement to switch off underperforming strategies.
• Know product details, trading hours, and last trading dates.
• Backtest changes and explore new strategies.
• Build in-house tools and improve monitoring.
• Maintain production configs and SOPs for knowledge sharing.
