Overview

First Military Recruitment is currently seeking an Operations Technician on behalf of one of our clients.

Under the supervision of the Area Manager, you will manage the daily operations of the gas field and generators at the assigned site to maximize electrical output while maintaining high safety standards.

Our client encourages applications from ex-military personnel; all candidates will be considered.

Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Ensure adherence to safe working practices and procedures in all work areas.
  • Assist in implementing and supervising health, safety, and quality procedures at sites.
  • Assist with planned, preventative, and breakdown maintenance of generator sets and associated equipment.
  • Provide backup and call-out assistance to Operations Technicians.
  • Maintain accurate records of operations and maintenance activities.
  • Ensure timely gas field readings are taken and communicated to relevant personnel.
  • Assist in ordering consumable parts such as oils, filters, spark plugs, and fan belts.
  • Maintain adequate spare parts stock on site.
  • Conduct routine stock takes of parts at the site.
  • Work Monday to Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with a one-hour lunch break.
Skills and Qualifications:
  • Experience in operations and maintenance of reciprocating engines and control systems.
  • Qualified to BTEC level or equivalent, preferably in a mechanical discipline, or proven relevant experience.
  • Flexibility, self-motivation, initiative, teamwork, and ability to work independently.
  • On-Call availability is required.
