Astute's Power team is partnering with a leading energy provider to recruit a Shift Operations Technician to work at a CCGT plant in Nottinghamshire.

This crucial Shift Operations Technician role comes with a salary of £34,700 - 52,100 + £14,285 shift allowance + benefits.

Responsibilities and duties

Reporting to the Shift Manager, you will:

  • Operate and monitor plant equipment to ensure safe and efficient performance, maintaining high levels of reliability and availability.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot issues to prevent operational interruptions, working closely with maintenance teams.
  • Conduct mechanical and electrical isolations, ensuring compliance with site safety rules and environmental regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives and contribute to team knowledge-sharing.
  • Assist in emergency response procedures and ensure the safe application of work processes on-site.
Professional qualifications

We are looking for someone with the following:

  • Experience within a process industry, ideally in power generation or similar sectors.
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Knowledge of plant operations best practices and safety standards.
  • IOSH or NEBOSH desirable
