Job description

Operations Merchandising Manager

£30,000
St. Helens
Monday to Friday - 8am to 4.30pm/ 9am to 5.30pm
Office based - however a driving license is essential due to client visits

As an operations merchandising manager, you will be pivotal in managing our extensive product range and operations. This role requires strategic oversight and a hands-on approach. The successful candidate will be responsible for the development of the field merchandising team.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Own and drive the merchandising strategies that align with business goals, for product categories and marketplace, across all channels.
  2. Lead, mentor, and manage the Merchandising team, overseeing the entire function across all channels including providing ongoing feedback and facilitating professional development.
  3. Provide detailed analysis delivering valuable insights to the Management team to support strategic decision-making.
  4. Work closely with the product team to build a commercial range using data-driven insight and knowledge.
  5. Plan and manage budgets to drive success across categories, new collections, and core styles.
  6. Confidently work with key stakeholders to understand and deliver range requirements for each trading channel.
  7. Produce weekly trade reports, review sales performance, and provide trade-based recommendations and actions.
  8. Manage key supplier relationships providing monthly rolling business forecasts.
  9. Oversee buying process and margin targets with suppliers.
  10. Manage inventory levels and stock replenishment to prevent overstocking or stock outs.
  11. Proactively identify and implement industry best practices in merchandising, stock management, and Open to Buy (OTB) strategies.
