Role Overview

Our Warehouse teams are the heartbeat of Smiths News. To ensure our warehouse departments run smoothly, our Team Leaders play a key role in maintaining accuracy, efficiency, and productivity across their departments and warehouses.

As an Operations Team Leader, you will be responsible for planning and resourcing the warehouse operations to ensure pack accuracy of our products and efficient management of products within the department. You will supervise Warehouse Operatives, providing training and coaching, working with management to identify training needs and potential risks. Ensuring high standards of health and safety, compliance with company policy, and transport legislation are also key responsibilities.

About You

While a background in warehouse management is desirable, experience in people management from other sectors will also be considered. Ideally, you will have:

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment, preferably from logistics, warehouse, FMCG, or similar industries
• Experience managing large operations and liaising across all levels
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships with team members and management
• Experience in planning and executing warehouse operations, handling issues and challenges as they arise
