Here, you can find more purpose, more passion, and more potential. That’s why working here is #MoreThanACareer. We do energy differently - we do it all. We make it, store it, move it, sell it, and mend it.

About your team:

Through our unique combination of household heroes and energy assets, we’re at the heart of the energy transition in Ireland, strengthening the country’s energy security and helping customers get ready for a net zero future.

About your role:

The EMC manages all energy assets in Ireland, the UK, and Europe, including Gas Peaking Power Plants and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS). There is also the potential to manage multiple other types of energy asset in the future.

As EMC Operations Team Lead, you’ll be responsible for the effective management of all aspects of the Control Room team, and support our goal of maximizing the availability and efficiency of assets under our control. You’ll directly manage a team of Control Room Operators, ensuring compliance with industry regulations, best practice, and contractual obligations, thus playing a key role in limiting our financial exposure related to unplanned outages.

Here’s what you’ll be doing:

  • Manage and engage with key teams to support the development of a safety and environmental culture focused on zero harm and continuous improvement, ensuring compliance with Safety, Contractual, REMIT, Permit, and License requirements.
  • Monitor energy assets to optimize efficiency in accordance with contractual, licence, and Permit obligations.
  • Manage and prioritize incoming event notifications to ensure compliance with relevant requirements.
  • Maintain accurate records of all tasks performed and conduct thorough handovers between shift teams to maintain continuity of safe operations and awareness of ongoing work activities.
  • Work within a Service Level Agreement (SLA)-driven team environment, preparing reports on asset availability and performance, and adhering to applicable company policies, procedures, and ethics codes.
  • Support onboarding of new assets and development of systems and processes.
  • Administer and configure notifications and reports, and document incident management and root cause investigation processes to facilitate ongoing learning.
  • Recruit, manage, mentor, and train new team members, providing coaching to develop skills and improve work practices.
  • Develop and promote continuous improvement initiatives for procedures to maintain team and service efficiency.
  • Represent the Control Room to the Asset Operations team and broader business, delivering required reporting to stakeholders.
  • Manage third-party relationships to support effective collaboration.
  • Implement disaster planning and procedures to ensure business resilience and continuity.

Here's what we’re looking for:

  • Relevant degree or significant experience in Electrical, Controls, Process, or Systems Engineering
  • 2+ years of operations and engineering experience, ideally in an energy company
  • Knowledge of energy and system service markets; understanding asset interactions is a plus
  • Experience managing multiple stakeholders and leading teams
  • Skilled in operating energy assets and SCADA control systems
  • Strong data analysis skills; proficient with OSI PI, Power BI, and Excel
  • Ability to source, combine, analyse, and present large datasets
  • Familiarity with incident management, root cause investigations, and action tracking is advantageous
  • Solid technical understanding of equipment and processes
