Operations Support Manager - Water Recycling

Circa £47,025 depending on skills and experience and car allowance

Permanent

Full time - 37 hours a week

Location- Dunstable and surrounding area

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in supporting and enhancing the efficiency of our Water Recycling Operations. You’ll help drive operational excellence by ensuring compliance, maintaining high customer service standards, and delivering on our tactical plans.

Working closely with our embedded Alliances and local delivery teams, you’ll oversee daily operations with a strong focus on environmental impact, safety, and service quality. You’ll ensure that all activities align with Anglian Water’s Health & Safety policies and comply with relevant legislation, POSWASTE, and QA procedures.

What does it take to be an Operations Support Manager?

  • Experience in the Water Industry (preferred).
  • Demonstrate experience of leadership skills within an operational environment
  • Strong IT skills and ability to quickly adapt to new systems.
  • Health & Safety qualification (IOSH or equivalent desirable).
  • Strategic thinking with the ability to challenge and drive change.
  • Proactive and forward-thinking approach to problem-solving.
  • A full UK driving licence.

Key duties will include:

  • Support the effective management of teams to ensure smooth operations.
  • Collaborate across the business to achieve strategic goals and priorities.
  • Oversee daily performance management, ensuring efficient service delivery while maintaining safety and quality standards.
  • Champion a strong Health & Safety culture, reviewing safety plans and leading by example.
  • Coach and develop employees to maintain compliance with safety, service, and quality expectations.
  • Actively contribute to Anglian Water’s LIFE culture, prioritizing employee health, safety, and well-being.
  • Assess risks and make informed operational decisions, even with incomplete information.
  • Be available for operational managerial standby on a rotational basis (approx. every 12 weeks).
