Operations Support Executive/Assessor: The CPD Certification Service
The CPD Certification Service is a membership-based organisation that helps over 6,500 organisations produce world class training and information-based material. We have been doing this for over 25 years. Continuing Professional Development, or CPD, defines how we improve our skills and competences throughout our working life. Our Operations Team assess material submitted by members and certify it, provided it is good enough. Member organisations include The Commonwealth Parliamentary Association Headquarters Secretariat (based in The Houses of Parliament), The Welsh Senedd, The World Health Organization, St Johns Ambulance, The House of Commons and many others. This year we will assess and certify over 50,000 pieces of CPD material.
We all work from home and our growth means we wish to recruit at least one home-based full-time staff member to our team of 23. The annual starting salary is £31,000, rising to £33,000 after a six-month probationary period. Initial working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 with flexible working after probation.
Most of your time will be undertaking “case management”. This involves handling member submissions and supervising our processes through to certification. You must be able to cope with a demanding administrative burden, possess a ruthless attention to detail, build member relations and work independently. After completing the probationary period, you will train as an assessor to determine if the CPD submissions you review are suitable for certification. Topics we see cover a wide range from cupcake making, trapeze artistry, remediating mould damage, carbon footprint calculation, the menopause, biosecurity, safeguarding, NATO battlefield injury treatment and more.
To be the right person you must be educated to tertiary level, possibly have experience in an educational or training environment, possess excellent English language skills and be familiar with Microsoft Office products. Immediately after interview, you will be asked to take a simple English grammar test.
As the role is fully home based there are two major things you will need to prove before we can make an offer. They are that:
We provide all the IT equipment you will need and ensure you have a correct DSE compliant environment to start work.
