The Opportunity
Abbott Diabetes Care designs, develops, and manufactures glucose monitoring systems for home and hospital use. Our Global Centre of Excellence for Medical Devices in Witney, Oxfordshire, produces test strips and has contributed to the development of the FreeStyle Libre Flash Glucose Monitoring System launched in 2014.
We are seeking a Test Method Validation Specialist to join our Technical Services team as an Operations Scientist III, supporting product release at Witney. You will lead the transfer of scientific test methods from R&D to Operations, including validation activities in our product release laboratory.
You will oversee test method validation activities, ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations. Your tasks include supporting the transfer of test methods, creating validation documents, supporting process development, performing risk assessments, and maintaining detailed records.
You should have at least a Bachelor's degree in a scientific or engineering discipline and experience in test method development and validation. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, project management, and adaptability are essential. Good communication skills and proficiency in IT tools like Excel and PowerPoint are required. Practical hands-on skills are beneficial for this role.
