Job summary

Wilson Power Solutions Ltd is seeking a Process Engineer to optimise and improve the industrial processes for Transformer Fitting Operations. You will conduct time studies, create routings for product families, and support the Operations Planner with releasing Works Orders in MRP/SharePoint.

Collaborating with Contracts, Quality and Engineering, you'll ensure technical documentation is current, maintain SOPs, and drive continuous improvement using Lean and Six Sigma.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a engineering field related to manufacturing.
• Over 2 years’ experience in process engineering in manufacturing.
• Experience with Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma.
• Experience with ERP/MRP and SPC is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Time studies for shop floor operations.
• Create routings for product types or families.
• Support Operations Planner with releasing Works Orders in MRP/SharePoint.
• Collaborate with Contracts, Quality and Engineering to keep documentation up to date.
• Ensure safety, environmental and regulatory compliance.
• Update data input in MRP and review operation confirmations.
• Conduct root cause analysis using 5 Whys, Fishbone diagram and FMEA.
• Drive continuous improvement with Lean/Six Sigma.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, SOPs and work instructions.

Job description

As Process Engineer you will be responsible with the optimisation and improvement of the industrial processes for Transformer Fitting Operations at Wilson Power Solutions.

• Time Studies for different operations on the shop floor
• Create Routings for different product types or product families
• Support Operations Planner with releasing Works Orders and ensuring all documentation has been uploaded correctly in MRP / SharePoint.
• Work with Contracts, Quality and Engineering to ensure that the technical documentation is correct and updated when required
• Ensure compliance with Safety, Environmental and Regulatory Requirements in all industrial activities
• Continually review and update data input in MRP (logins on jobs, operation confirmations)
• Conduct root cause analysis using problem-solving tools such as 5 Whys, Fishbone Diagram, and FMEA.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve product quality and productivity.
• Monitor process performance and recommend improvements.
• Troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
• Lead or participate in continuous improvement initiatives using Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles.
• Develop and maintain process documentation, standard operating procedures (SOPs), and work instructions.

Skills, Knowledge & Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related field.
• Over 2 years’ experience in process engineering in manufacturing environment
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience of working with transformers is desirable
• Experience with process validation and statistical process control (SPC).
• Excellent I.T. skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Experience working with ERP / MRP systems
• Flexibility to adapt to change
• Ability to work to strict timelines
• Good interpersonal skills with a ‘can-do’ attitude

Salary & Benefits

Salary negotiable dependent on experience

37.5 hours per week (office based)
