Job summary

VolkerRail in Scotland is seeking an Operations Planner for our SPC contract. You will develop short-term programmes, align with Project Managers, and manage programme updates across procurement and design prerequisites.

A proactive, detail-oriented planner with experience in major construction sites is ideal. Strong skills in Microsoft Office (Word/Excel/PowerPoint) and isolation planning techniques are required, with POS/SWL2 lifts competencies preferred.

• Able to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines with minimal supervision.
• Problem solving and good interpersonal skills are essential.

An opportunity has arisen for an Operations Planner to join our busy SPC contract based in Scotland.

Key duties will include:

• Producing compliant short-term programmes and agree with relevant accountable Project Managers.
• Producing complaint programmes detailing any procurement and design prerequisites.
• Sign off on Programme Updates and Communicate issues.
• Programme Integration Management.

About you

The successful candidate will have a strong attention to detail and be self-motivated with a pro-active approach with experience of working under pressure and meeting tight deadlines with a minimum level of supervision. Problem solving, communication and good interpersonal skills are required for this role.

The candidate will also ideally have the following Experience/skill set:

• Microsoft Office and isolation planning techniques.
• Hold or working towards POS, SWL2/ Lift planner competencies
• Previous experience of planning in a major project construction site environment.
• A competent user of Microsoft Word, Excel and Power Point.
• A positive and enthusiastic approach to challenges and problems.
• The ability to manage work to meet varying deadlines.
