Operations Manager
Operations Manager – Vegetation Management - Angus, Scotland - Monday to Friday - £50,000 basic + Minimum £5,000 Bonus + Pickup Truck + Private Healthcare + Laptop & Mobile

The Job:
An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Operations Manager to take charge of a growing depot in Angus, Scotland, working within the commercial vegetation management sector. This role offers the chance to lead a dedicated team while playing a key role in the delivery of major infrastructure-related contracts.

The Company:
This well-established business is recognised as a key player in the commercial grounds and vegetation management sector. Known for its reliable service and forward-thinking approach, the company continues to expand and is looking for a committed individual to take ownership of a strategically important depot.

The Role:
Reporting directly to senior leadership, you will manage the day-to-day operations of the depot, ensuring the smooth and efficient delivery of services while leading a team of 12+ staff including a Contracts Supervisor, Team Leaders, Operatives, and Tractor Drivers.
Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee all aspects of depot operations and service delivery
  2. Coordinate work schedules, logistics, and equipment usage
  3. Recruit, mentor, and support staff development
  4. Ensure machinery and vehicles are maintained and compliant
  5. Manage client relationships and seek opportunities to enhance contracts
  6. Monitor performance via internal digital systems
  7. Maintain accurate documentation, reports, and contract records
  8. Deliver work safely, on time, and within budget
  9. Maintain a commercial focus to support growth and profitability

The Candidate:

  1. Proven leadership and team management experience
  2. Understanding of operational planning and equipment maintenance
  3. Familiarity with digital contract tracking or CRM systems
  4. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  5. Commercial awareness with the ability to identify efficiencies
  6. Self-starter with an entrepreneurial mindset and a drive to grow the depot
  7. Flexible and open to occasional travel or overnight stays

The Package:
- Basic salary of £50,000, with a minimum £5,000 performance bonus
- Company pickup truck, private healthcare, laptop, and mobile phone
- Monday to Friday working hours with a degree of flexibility
