With plans to expand operations, the company is seeking an Operations Manager to bring structure, lead lean initiatives, and ensure that factory operations are managed smoothly. The role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact in a business poised for further growth.

Job Description

  • Production Management : Oversee daily production planning to ensure alignment with customer orders and deadlines.
  • Quality Control : Maintain strict quality standards, addressing any issues promptly and implementing corrective actions where needed.
  • Lean Practices : Lead and drive continuous improvement initiatives, implementing Lean practices to optimise factory efficiency.
  • Team Leadership : Manage and develop a high-performance team, providing training, performance reviews, and clear direction to drive results.
  • Cross-Department Collaboration : Work closely with Sales, Engineering, and Finance teams to ensure seamless communication and operational alignment across the business.
  • Health & Safety : Ensure robust health and safety processes are followed, aiming for zero accidents.
  • Process Improvement : Continuously identify opportunities for improvement, focusing on eliminating waste and improving productivity.

The Successful Applicant

  • Manufacturing experience with doors, timber or joinery would be a plus, but it isn't essential
  • Leadership Experience : Proven experience managing large teams in fast-paced, high-output environments. Ideal candidates will come from companies with a mass production focus.
  • Lean Expertise : A strong understanding of Lean principles and experience implementing them in a manufacturing setting.
  • Solutions-Focused : A proactive approach to problem-solving, with the ability to make decisions quickly and efficiently.
  • Systems-Oriented : Expertise in managing production schedules, improving work-flows, and ensuring processes are followed consistently.
  • People Skills : A collaborative mindset with a focus on developing and motivating teams. The ability to earn respect, drive results, and bring the team along with you is key.
