08:00-16:30 Mon-Fri

£37,500-£42,000 per annum

We are currently hiring for an experienced, hands on manager for metal processing company.

You will be responsible for all site operations including site profit and loss and overseeing the sourcing, processing and logistics of metal.

You will be direct managing a small team of 5, ensuring that the site runs like clockwork.

Duties Will Include

• Shift management and authorising required overtime
• Ensuring all site Health and safety and PPE requirements are followed at all times
• Conducting/managing any necessary site investigations
• People management: training, 1-2-1's, KPI's etc.
• Monitoring material quality
• Preparing financial budgeting and forecast reports
• Cost saving initiatives
• Maximising people, plant and material utilisation
• Ensuring that material wastage is kept to a minimum
• Lead continuous improvement strategies
  
  

Essential

What we're looking for in the perfect candidate:

• Experience with financial budgeting
  
  

A hands on manager with a strong presence in the yard - this is not an office based role

• Fantastic negotiation and relationship building skills
• IT literacy
  
  

Desirable

• Any knowledge/experience in the metal industry (ferrous, non-ferrous and processing)
• Licenses for any of the following desirable: TCM, WAMITAB, NEBOSH
• Experience with Navision system and Weighbridge
