Position Overview

Based at our Puratos site in Wels, Austria, in order to further strengthen our Operations team, we are currently seeking an:

Operations Manager (m/w/d)

(Wels,Austria)

Reporting directly to the Site General Manager and as a part of the local Management Team, the successful candidate for this key function will be responsible for managing the operations activities for our modern facility in terms of manufacturing, supply chain, quality control/assurance and logistics.

Key Accountabilities

  • Ensuring maximum customer satisfaction whilst not compromising on the safety of our staff, the quality of our products or compliance to standards and norms
  • Ensuring all Operations financial and non-financial targets are met through the establishment and execution of plans, monitoring of performance and provision of support to the team
  • Continuously improving the efficiency and effectiveness of our Operations – from inbound supply, Procurement, through Production, Quality Control, Warehousing and Distribution – exploiting Best Practices from inside the Group and innovative approaches more generally
  • Developing the Operations team into an highly effective and engaged team
  • Ensuring effective specification, planning and execution of capital investment projects in line with business priorities and strategies
  • Collaborating effectively in the Country Management team, and at regional, Market and global Operations forums

Profile

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters preferred) in a technological or technical discipline
  • 5+ years leadership experience in a multi-shift, dynamic manufacturing-based environment; ideally across Quality, Production, Supply Chain & Procurement
  • Experience leading leaders, providing coaching, developing talent, and building a high-performance team
  • Disciplined and systematic individual promoting high levels of operational rigour in all aspects of documentation and process management
  • Strong knowledge of local labour, safety and other relevant laws and norms.
  • Good knowledge of World Class manufacturing methodologies, e.g. TPM, LEAN
  • Data-oriented and result focused, without losing sight of the importance of the needs of the individual and team
  • Culture awareness and experience of diversity, business etiquette, skills of doing business (including virtually) negotiations
  • Strategic thinking combined with hands-on mentality
  • Business fluent English
  • Curiosity to investigate and propose creative and innovative solutions towards step-change improvements
  • Ability to translate business strategy into actionable initiatives in Operations, and to address Operations strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats by collaborating to shape business strategy
  • Promotes our company culture within the wider organization. Helps the team navigate effectively through the matrix organization through networking with key stakeholders
