Operations Manager (Infrastructure)

Would you like to be part of Vital Energi’s growth strategy? We’re looking for an experienced and driven Operations Manager to lead the delivery of high-profile contracts across the Yorkshire region, ensuring they are completed safely, on time, on budget, and to the highest client and Vital Energi standards.

This is a key leadership role where you'll oversee a team of Contracts Managers, ensuring projects are delivered to the highest standards. You will be involved in developing client relationships, liaising with subcontractors and suppliers of materials or services to Vital Energi. You’ll play a central role in shaping project outcomes, building strong client relationships, and driving innovation in installation methods and technologies.

Key Responsibilities

1. Attend pre-contract meetings with senior commercial staff.
2. Understand contract and client requirements for performance and project delivery.
3. Ensure Contract Managers maintain construction programmes and meet key milestones.
4. Ensure QA procedures are followed, projects are defect-free, and successfully completed.
5. Oversee health and safety plans and management across all sites.
6. Assist in securing labor and subcontractors for projects across the UK.
7. Attend site meetings with clients to manage expectations.
8. Review and improve systems and methods for contract performance.
9. Conduct reviews with staff within the unit.
10. Develop and maintain relationships with key clients and promote the company.
11. Engage with potential clients and assist in bidding processes.
12. Promote policies on equality and health & safety.
13. Contribute to trading forecasts and participate in monthly financial reviews.

The Person

• Several years’ experience as a Contracts Manager managing large or multiple projects.
• Experience as Principal Contractor & Principal Designer.
• Proven track record in a related engineering environment.
• HND/degree in an Engineering subject is essential.
• Legally entitled to work in the UK and currently residing in the UK.
