Operations Manager -HSE & Compliance

  • Location:Bridgwater, Somerset
  • Job Type:permanent, Full-time, 9-day fortnight (subject to change)
  • Sector:Nuclear Infrastructure

We are seeking an Operations manageroversee and deliver high-quality, compliant cleaning & compliance services at a nuclear facility. This role is ideal for a seasoned leader with a strong background in managing large teams and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as ISO, COSHH, or HSE. Experience in nuclear environments is a bonus, but we welcome candidates from other regulated industries who understand the importance of cleanliness, documentation, and safety in operational spaces.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Lead and manage specialist cleaning operations across sitefacilities.
  • Develop and maintain documentation including SOPs, Risk Assessments, and Method Statements.
  • Ensure compliance with cleanliness standards and health & safety regulations.
  • Coordinate multiple teams and ensure consistent delivery across geographically dispersed areas.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and contribute to strategic planning and innovation.
  • Oversee recruitment, training, performance reviews, and HR compliance.
  • Monitor operations, conduct inspections, and lead incident investigations.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Proven leadership in managing large operational teams.
  • Strong understanding of compliance frameworks (ISO, COSHH, HSE).
  • Excellent communication, planning, and documentation skills.
  • Ability to work in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
  • Compliance experience in nuclear, pharmaceutical, medical, or chemical sectors.
  • Desirable - NEBOSH, SMSTS, or similar safety/construction qualifications.
  • Knowledge of RCC-M standards (training can be provided).

Additional Requirements:

  • Driving license preferred due to site location, there isbus service to the site available.
