RoleThis is a full-time on-site role, offered on a permanent full-time basis of 40hrs per week, The Operations / Compliance Manager will oversee the effective management of operational and compliance activities at Stoneygate Eye Hospital. This role ensures the hospital operates efficiently, complies with regulatory standards, and maintains the highest levels of clinical governance. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operations management and compliance within the healthcare sector, with a proven ability to manage incidents, audits, complaints, and systems.
The role reports directly to the Registered General Manager (RGM) and will oversee operational, and compliance matters in the RGM's absence. There may be the need to travel to appointments outside of the hospital as required, and so use of own car and a full-UK driving license is necessary.
Responsibilities
Operations Management:
- Help oversee day-to-day operations to ensure smooth and efficient service delivery.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and patient care.
- Provide evening and weekend support as required to ensure operational continuity.
- Support in operational planning and execution of projects/events outside of Stoneygate
Compliance and Clinical Governance:
- Ensure compliance with all relevant healthcare regulations, standards, and policies (e.g., CQC, GDPR, Health and Safety).
- Lead and manage clinical governance activities, including risk management and quality improvement initiatives.
- Conduct regular audits to monitor compliance and identify areas for improvement.
Incident and Complaint Management:
- Act as the primary point of contact for managing incidents and complaints, ensuring timely resolution and effective communication with stakeholders.
- Investigate incidents, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Maintain accurate records of incidents and complaints, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Systems and Reporting:
- Manage and optimise operational systems to support efficient service delivery.
- Prepare and present reports on operational performance, compliance, and clinical governance to senior management.
- Ensure data accuracy and integrity across all systems.
Leadership and Oversight:
- Report directly to the Regional General Manager (RGM) and oversee operational and compliance matters in the RGM's absence.
- Work closely with the matron and back-office teams to ensure alignment with operational and compliance goals.
- Provide guidance and support to staff on compliance-related matters.
- Develop and implement operational policies and procedures to improve efficiency and patient care.
- Provide evening and weekend support as required to ensure operational continuity.
Person Specification:
Essential:
- Proven experience as an Operations Manager and Compliance Manager within the healthcare sector.
- Strong knowledge of CQC healthcare regulations, clinical governance, and risk management.
- Experience managing incidents, complaints, and audits.
- Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse teams.
- Full UK driving licence and access to own car (travel may be required).
Desirable:
- Relevant qualifications in healthcare management, compliance, or a related field.
- Experience working in an eye care or specialist healthcare setting.
