Join us as an Operations Services Manager (Estate Services) at Thirteen Group!

Role Overview
Thirteen Group is on the lookout for an Operations Services Manager (Estate Services) to lead our Estate Services team of 75 colleagues who help to look after over a million square metres of open space.

This is a fantastic leadership opportunity to continue to drive the development of our Estates Services team. You’ll focus on continual improvement and value for money; we want estates our customers can be proud of living in!

This is a roam role, so you’ll mainly work from our fantastic offices in Middlesbrough and Billingham, and there will be an element of home working. We’ll need you to be flexible around business and team need, so you may need to come into our offices more frequently when required.

Key Responsibilities
  • Working closely with Michael Hall, Head of Estates Services, you’ll be responsible for all aspects of Estates Services delivery. This includes managing our in-house grounds maintenance, caretaking and arboriculture services, as well as contract arrangements.
  • With 4 direct reports, you’ll lead the day-to-day management of both our reactive and planned Estates Services across a number of geographic locations.
  • We’ve had national recognition for employer excellence for our approach towards training, development and career progression, so you’ll play a lead role in continuing to develop our team.
  • Support your team on a range of queries linked to health and safety, and risk management.
About You
  • Passionate about the delivery of a customer-driven service and someone who always looks for continuous improvement to meet the needs of our customers.
  • A confident people manager, who celebrates the positives and can navigate the negatives, providing a constant source of support for your team.
  • Experience within an estate services setting. If you’ve managed a service before, that would be a bonus, but we’d consider people who are looking to develop their career.
  • Fantastic people and communication skills. You’ll collaborate with other internal teams, contractors and interact with customers.
  • An in-depth working knowledge of health and safety and regulatory requirements.
