Position Title: Operations Manager, Data Centre

Reporting To: Service Delivery Manager, Data Centre

Job Purpose:

  • Lead a diverse team of multiskilled engineers to ensure high performance and delivery.
  • Undertake Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), Reactive Maintenance, Small Projects, and Helpdesk Calls in accordance with client and JLL requirements.
  • Manage and monitor the building's operational functions.
  • Be responsible for the building's operational assets and systems during your shift.
  • Issue permits to work for all specialist vendors and carry out appropriate isolations via LOTO.
  • Ensure EHS, statutory, and contractual compliance is delivered and maintained.
  • Maintain building operating conditions in line with design specifications, country regulations, and contractual requirements.
  • Collect, analyze, and record all site documentation.
  • Produce monthly operational reports and additional reports as required.
  • Complete HV training (to be confirmed) and switch HV and LV supplies as needed.

Aims and Objectives:

  • Act as a single point of contact for all engineering matters across the location.
  • Assist ESM in the safe delivery of all JLL services and projects.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities:

  • EHS, Quality, Contractual, and Statutory Compliance
  • Monthly Reporting
  • Project work and BAU interface
  • Permit to work / RAMS approval
  • Incident investigation and reporting
  • Incident escalation
  • Manage PPM, Reactive Maintenance, and Help Desk Calls on shift
  • Supervise staff, subcontractors, and specialist providers
  • Proactively manage preventative maintenance and additional works
  • Maintain clear records and provide incident reports
  • Coordinate with support staff and manage HV/LV switching

Health & Safety:

All staff must ensure they take reasonable care for health and safety, following all guidance and instructions as per the Health & Safety Policy.

Person Specification:

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge, Skills, and Competencies include:

  • Indoctrinated Apprenticeship or equivalent qualifications such as City & Guilds Parts 1 and 2 or 17th Edition I.E.E.
  • Experience in critical maintenance environments.
  • Good knowledge of BMS, UPS, Emergency Generation, Electrical and Mechanical systems, and Air conditioning.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and adaptable.

Desirable: HV switching experience.

Knowledge: Extensive experience in building services, critical assets, and emergency procedures.

Personal Attributes: Confident, personable, organized, and able to build positive relationships.

Competencies include: Providing direction, results orientation, excellence drive, teamwork, communication, planning, risk management, customer focus, and health & safety management.
