The Post in Context

The Wave Team has considerable experience in managing community leisure facilities, including leisure centres (wet and dry), dual use sites (such as schools and colleges), and running sport and physical activity programmes both indoor and outdoor.

This role is key to providing friendly, safe, and efficient service to all customers at the leisure centre. The post holder should be an inspirational role model, leading and motivating teams to deliver excellence in all operational areas.

Experience (Essential)

• Staff supervision, leading teams to achieve high results and adapt to changing priorities
• Experience in a customer-focused service environment
• Cash handling, reconciliation, and financial systems experience

Qualifications (Essential)

• National Pool Lifeguard Qualification (NPLQ) or ability to obtain

Qualifications (Desirable)

• Current First Aid Certificate
• Coaching qualification in one or more sports
• Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication
• Good organisational skills
• Experience in recruiting, training, and staff development
