We have a fantastic vacancy for an Operation’s Manager to manage the day-to-day maintenance and operations of buildings and outside spaces at the University of Warwick in Coventry on a permanent, full-time basis.
The Opportunity
The Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing and optimizing a zone-based maintenance model for the day-to-day maintenance operations of the University for the high volume, simple fix reactive and planned maintenance activities, ensuring an efficient and productive service delivery.
This role involves managing resources, coordinating with various departments both within Estates and the wider University, implementing strategic initiatives, and continuously improving processes to meet the university goals and strategy.
The Operations Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining high standards of service delivery, fostering a positive work environment, and driving operational excellence, with outstanding levels of customer service.
The role involves leading a large team of Zone Managers and Technicians who act as the main interface between Estates and the wider University in regard to all Estates led activities.
You’ll work closely with other Maintenance Managers and technical specialist teams to coordinate soft and hard service delivery, and ensure that all teams are working together providing our customers with a coordinated operational maintenance service.
About You
You will hold experience as a Multi Skilled Maintenance Engineer or similar in the building services sector, dealing with a variety of building types across all areas of fabric, electrical and mechanical.
You will have a background in people management and managing customer relationships.
A recognised HND or Degree qualification in Building Services or similar, or equivalent experience with an excellent understanding of legal and statutory maintenance requirements.
