Job summary

Ipsum Power in Warrington is seeking a skilled project delivery leader to manage a portfolio of work, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with legislation and business standards. You will provide safety, quality, commercial and engineering leadership to the project delivery team, driving best practice and resource planning for future growth.

  • Experience in Power/Utilities operations essential.
  • Experience delivering work requiring deep excavation, temporary works, cable installation.
  • Knowledge of how DNO networks operate and statutory requirements.
  • Strong health and safety practices and risk controls.
  • Commercial/contractual awareness including NEC contracts.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all work is delivered safely and lead safety culture on site.
  • Coordinate with clients and staff to ensure on-time, on-budget delivery.
  • Maintain quality standards and inspection/test plans across projects.
  • Support HR in training, development and performance assessments.
  • Provide reports on progress, safety metrics and costs.

About The Role

To manage and deliver a portfolio of work for Ipsum Power, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with legislation and business standards. The role provides safety, quality, commercial and engineering leadership to the project delivery team, driving best practice and effective resource planning to support future growth, while maintaining existing workstreams and identifying new business opportunities.


Key Responsibilities


  • Ensure all work is delivered safely and provide effective safety leadership so everyone in the project delivery team is proud to follow the rules

  • Ensure regular H&S meetings / forums are held and all safety information / TBTs delivered and cascaded in timely manner

  • Ensure regular site inspections / Safety Tours are undertaken in line with Company internal requirements

  • Ensure all work is delivered to the required standards of quality and inspection and test plans are always fully completed

  • Be proactive across the offices in establishing training and development requirements in conjunction with HR and Contract Director.

  • Work with client and staff to ensure works are completed on time and within budget

  • Ensure monthly team meetings are held and management information is effectively cascaded down to the entire project delivery team

  • To carry out regular assessments / personal appraisals of all direct staff on project delivery team

  • Drive business to increase profit, whilst meeting business targets and objectives including control of direct and indirect costs

  • Support recruitments in line with Ipsum policy and business operating model

  • Ensure the companies policy statements are operated and adhered to

  • Work with commercial team to of weekly/ Monthly reports to Contract Director covering measured achievement, revenue and gross profit forecasts, safety performance, training requirements, risks and opportunities

  • Ensure resources are scheduled effectively by ensuring project delivery team.

  • Be a champion for “What Really Matters” and ensure all of these required standards are ingrained in the direct team

  • Operate within financial delegated authority limits


About You…


  • Previous experience working in a Power / Utilities operational role essential

  • Previous experience delivering work that requires activities like: deep excavation, temporary works, cable installation, cable jointing, and engaging with stakeholders

  • Specific knowledge of how DNO networks operate

  • Solid and up to date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation, and technical advances

  • Good knowledge of health and safety practice and effective risk controls

  • Commercial / contractual awareness including forms of contract like NEC

  • Managing sub-contractors from safety, compliance and commercial perspectives
