Operations Manager (Warehouse/Distribution)

We're looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead outbound operations at a high-volume distribution center (DC). In this hands-on role, you'll ensure smooth order fulfillment, quality, and cost-efficient delivery—driving performance and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee daily outbound operations including order accuracy, packing, truck loading, and inventory flow
  • Partner with leadership to improve productivity, safety, and cost efficiency
  • Use performance data to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant regulatory and quality standards
  • Lead staffing functions including hiring, training, and performance management
  • Develop and manage departmental budgets, including freight and transportation
  • Collaborate with domestic freight partners and oversee service performance
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives in both UK and international logistics
What You'll Need:
  • Experience in DC operations leadership (inbound, outbound, inventory control)
  • Strong grasp of warehouse metrics, safety protocols, and compliance standards
  • Proficient in WMS (preferably Manhattan) and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Skilled in troubleshooting, problem-solving, and managing multiple priorities
  • Strong communication and team management skills
  • Ability to interpret performance data and drive strategic action
