Job summary

J3A Recruitment is looking for an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day site performance in a heavy industrial environment. You will direct operations, manage teams, ensure safety, and drive efficiency across production, maintenance and engineering interfaces.

An established industrial business is looking to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to take responsibility for day-to-day site performance, people management and operational efficiency. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity within a fast-paced, heavy industrial environment, requiring someone who can drive standards, develop teams and deliver consistent operational results.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead daily site operations, ensuring safe, efficient and productive working practices.
• Manage, motivate and develop operational teams, promoting accountability and high performance.
• Monitor operational KPIs, productivity, throughput and cost control.
• Identify and implement improvements across site processes, workflows and resource utilisation.
• Maintain high standards of health, safety and environmental compliance.
• Work closely with maintenance and engineering teams to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.

About You

• Proven experience in an Operations Manager, Production Manager or Site Management position.
• Background within heavy industry, metals, recycling, waste processing or a similarly demanding industrial environment.
• Strong people management skills with experience leading operational teams.
• Good understanding of health, safety and environmental responsibilities.
• Experience improving KPIs, productivity and operational efficiency.
• Commercially aware, with the ability to manage costs and operational resources.
• A practical, visible leadership style and the confidence to make decisions.
