Operations Manager
Location:Surrey
Salary: £60,000 – £70,000 Benefits
Permanent: Full Time (36.25 hours per week), Part Time considered

As the Operations Manager, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the efficient, safe, and high-quality manufacture of precision-engineered products while driving continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities for the Operations Manager:

  • Lead and coordinate activities across Production, Supply Chain, and QHSE.

  • Work closely with the Production Manager to ensure timely delivery of high-quality products, from CNC machining to assembly and final testing.

  • Deliver monthly operational KPIs, ensuring accurate reporting and actionable insights.

  • Drive inventory and stock management strategies to support production efficiency and cost control.

  • Support the QHSE Manager on the path to ISO9001 certification, ensuring processes, systems, and documentation meet required standards.

  • Oversee the smooth transfer of new products from R&D into manufacturing.

  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, quality, and safety.

  • Manage facilities maintenance to ensure a safe and effective workplace.

  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations while fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.

About You:

  • Proven experience in an operations role within an electro-mechanical or high-tech manufacturing environment.

  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including CNC machining, electronic & mechanical assembly, and product testing.

  • Collaborative leadership style, able to inspire cross-functional teams and drive performance through KPIs.

  • Hands-on experience with ISO9001 quality systems and the implementation of standards.

  • Track record in lean initiatives, operational excellence, and process improvement.

  • Experience with ERP systems and stock/materials management.

  • Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.

  • HND or Degree in Engineering, Business, or a related discipline.

Desirable:

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Business Central.

  • Experience with ISO14001 and ISO45001 standards.
