Job Description:

As the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for managing and leading the success of the finishing department.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Operations Manager to join a well-established specialist manufacturing business. You will manage and lead the finishing department, developing performance, processes, and output. You will oversee a team of 3 supervisors and 62 staff members.

Job Responsibilities include:

  • Leading the team in SAP usage for data processing, analysis, and planning.
  • Conducting toolbox talks and shift meetings, including night shifts.
  • Creating production schedules across all plants.
  • Managing stock, rotation, and ordering consumables.
  • Supporting development of customer relationships and assisting with estimating and pricing.
  • Ensuring on-time, quality, and cost-effective delivery of post-fabrication processes and coated parts.
  • Promoting health & safety compliance and culture.
  • Managing production KPIs and reviewing performance regularly.
  • Enhancing workplace wellbeing and employee satisfaction.
  • Identifying training needs for team members, including underperformers and high performers.

Preferred Skills and Experience:

  • Previous experience as Operations Manager, Production Manager, or similar in manufacturing or engineering.
  • Background in manufacturing, factory, or production environments.
  • SAP Business One experience is preferred but not essential; experience with other ERP/MRP systems is acceptable.
  • Proven ability to improve production efficiency.
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage changing workflows.
  • Strong delegation, scheduling, and planning skills.
  • Experience in managing and developing people.

Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 7:30 am – 4:00 pm, Friday 7:30 am – 3:00 pm

Salary: £50,000 to £55,000 per annum
