Operations Manager - Food Manufacturing
Location: Dungannon
Salary: £50-60K (DOE)

MCS Group is delighted to be working with a well-established food manufacturer based in Dungannon, as they seek to appoint an experienced Operations Manager to lead day-to-day production and operational performance at their facility.

This is a hands-on leadership role with full responsibility for driving production efficiency, managing cross-functional teams, embedding lean principles, and ensuring operational excellence in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all production lines, ensuring safety, quality, service, and cost KPIs are consistently achieved
• Manage a shift-based production operation, including planning, performance monitoring, labour optimisation, and output delivery
• Collaborate with the Technical and Quality teams to ensure compliance with food safety, BRC, and regulatory standards
• Oversee supply chain, inventory, warehousing, and both inbound and outbound logistics operations
• Ensure material availability, stock accuracy, and supplier performance via effective ERP/MRP usage
• Drive a lean culture through the implementation of 5S, Kaizen, and other CI methodologies
• Lead continuous improvement projects to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and improve customer satisfaction

Criteria for Success:

• Recent experience in a senior operations or production management role within the food manufacturing or FMCG sectors
• Proven track record in managing and developing high-performing teams
• Strong working knowledge of supply chain, logistics, and manufacturing best practices
• Practical experience with lean manufacturing tools and improvement frameworks
• Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making abilities

Desirable Qualifications:

• Degree in Engineering, Food Science, Operations Management, or a related field
• Lean Six Sigma certification (Green Belt or higher)
• Food safety or Health & Safety qualifications such as NEBOSH
