Operations Manager

£75,000 + Package

London / Southeast

Active & Passive Fire Safety

The Business:

Leading Compliance business specialising in fire safety and electrical maintenance. Supporting Local Authority clients across London and the Southeast - councils, housing associations, education, blue light etc.

The Role:

Working for a leading compliance business with a true appetite for growth, the successful Operations Manager will be managing the fire safety division reporting in to the overall Divisional Operations Director.

Taking full control, the successful Operations Manager will have full operational, commercial and strategic leadership of a business unit worth £17m PA. The bulk of the work carried out will be both Active and Passive Fire maintenance contracts.

Experience:

As an Operations Manager you will take overall responsibility for the business unit with support from the Operations Director.

This is a fast-paced role which requires excellent organisational and interpersonal skills, and will involve:

  1. Managing contracts to achieve targets in respect of safety, time, cost, quality and customer satisfaction.
  2. Managing DLO, sub-contractors and processes to ensure that all works are controlled and delivered within the time frames required and that they meet the minimum standard set by the Clients KPI's.
  3. Ensuring an excellent customer experience at all times.

Key skills required include:

  1. Experience in completing construction phase plans.
  2. Client contract delivery, customer relationships and management of relevant teams.
  3. P&L, cash flow and costs management.
  4. Creating a work safe culture.
  5. Able to manage others to deliver multiple projects at the same time.
  6. Good communicator with experience dealing with clients and subcontractors.
  7. Proficient IT skills, including Microsoft Word and Outlook.
  8. Able to produce construction programmes (MS Projects ideally).
  9. A flexible, 'can do' attitude and the desire to work as part of a team.
  10. Able to produce and deliver progress reports.
  11. Must be able to manage H&S, quality, and programme performance on their projects via their management team.
