Job summary

GXO Logistics is seeking a Site Operations Manager to lead the Desford site, ensuring KPI delivery, safety standards, and team development in a fast-paced warehouse environment. You will oversee day-to-day operations, liaise with stakeholders to coordinate site activities, and drive service delivery, budgeting KPIs and contractual commitments while maintaining safe practices.

Here at GXO, we’re looking for a Site Operations Manager to lead our Desford site, ensuring operational KPIs are met, safety standards are upheld, and teams are developed to deliver excellence.

At Hinkley Point C, we’re building two new nuclear reactors – the first in a new generation of power stations delivering zero-carbon electricity for around six million homes. As a Tier One partner to Nuclear New Build (NNB), we provide warehousing and transportation services critical to the success of this project.

This is a full-time permanent position. You’ll be working Monday to Friday, between the house of 06:00 and 18:00, covering 37.5 hours per week. However, some flexibility is required, this is logistics after all!

We’re looking to offer a salary of up to£50,000 per annum, and 25 days annual leave (plus bank holidays). A company sponsored pension scheme, life assurance and death in service.

What you need to succeed at GXO:

• Proven experience in warehouse/distribution operations within a fast-paced environment
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to coach and develop teams
• Excellent organisational and communication skills, with stakeholder management experience
• IT literacy and ability to learn new systems quickly; NEBOSH or CITB MAPS advantageous
• A safety-first mindset with knowledge of HSEQ and regulatory compliance
