Jonathan Lee Group is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to lead a high-velocity manufacturing team in Chesterfield. You will drive Lean Six Sigma initiatives, improve quality, cost and delivery, and embed a culture of continuous improvement.

You will ensure ISO 9001/14001 compliance, manage budgeting and CAPEX justification, and report to the Managing Director as part of a Senior Management Team. The role focuses on dependable manufacturing supply and site-wide transformation.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Lead and motivate an experienced team to improve on-time delivery for UK and international customers.
  • Own the development of manufacturing capability, quality standards, and performance against SQCPD targets within the Quality Management System.
  • Create a high-performance, continuous improvement culture using Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques.
  • Ensure manufacturing operations meet Safety, Health and Environmental requirements consistently, in line with company standards.
  • Provide leadership, training, and support to ensure production capability and resources meet present and predicted demand.
  • Report directly into the Managing Director and help deliver site-wide transformation as part of a Senior Management Team.

  • - Experience working in an MRP/ERP manufacturing environment, operating to ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards.
  • - Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision‑making skills, with the confidence to challenge tradition constructively.
  • - Demonstrable commercial acumen, including departmental budgeting, cost reduction initiatives, CAPEX justification, and resource planning.
