Job description

Position: Operations Manager
Location: Hybrid - split between office and site
Salary Package: Up to GBP55,000 per annum, plus car or car allowance, and a discretionary bonus of 5-10% of salary annually

Role Summary:

We are seeking an Operations Manager to succeed the current incumbent and lead the Construction Division, driving the continued growth and delivery of the clients system. This role will be critical in overseeing the supervising teams, managing ongoing projects, and expanding our installer network nationwide.

The Operations Manager will ensure seamless execution of designs created by the technical team and design team by conducting site visits, verifying site conditions, confirming install feasibility, supervising installations, and managing project handover and closeout.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the delivery of the clients system and services across all projects, ensuring timely and high-quality completion.
  • Manage and support site supervisors (currently three reporting directly) to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborate closely with hydroseeding, sales, and logistics teams.
  • Plan and prioritize workload effectively, juggling 2-4 projects at various stages concurrently.
  • Take ownership of operational challenges, demonstrating strong individual initiative and multitasking capabilities.
  • Drive expansion by recruiting and growing the installer network nationally.

Experience & Qualifications:

  • Proven experience working with JCT and NEC contracts.
  • Willingness to travel frequently and stay away from home as required.
  • Practical, hands-on experience in groundworks and earthworks.
  • Knowledge of CDM regulations.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise clearly and confidently at all levels.
  • Previous experience in a contractor environment, preferably in an operations management or similar leadership role.
  • Solid site management expertise understanding site operations, feasibility, and commercial considerations.
  • A proactive, assertive leadership style capable of managing teams firmly yet fairly.
